Job Summary:
The Director of Human Resources is a key member of the executive team responsible for leading the HR department in a large 5-star luxury hotel in Saudi Arabia. This role will oversee the development and implementation of HR strategies, policies, and initiatives aligned with the hotel’s business objectives. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker, capable of enhancing the employee experience, fostering a positive work culture, and ensuring compliance with Saudi labor laws.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership:
- Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with the overall business strategy of the hotel.
- Provide strategic advice to the General Manager and executive team on human resource-related matters.
Talent Acquisition and Retention:
- Lead the recruitment process for all positions, ensuring the hiring of high-caliber talent.
- Implement effective onboarding and training programs to enhance employee engagement and retention.
Employee Relations and Culture:
- Foster a positive work environment that promotes employee satisfaction and high performance.
- Manage employee relations issues, mediate conflicts, and handle disciplinary actions in compliance with local laws.
Performance Management:
- Develop and oversee performance management processes, including appraisals, feedback, and goal setting.
- Implement succession planning and career development initiatives to support employee growth.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Design competitive compensation and benefits programs to attract and retain top talent.
- Ensure that the hotel’s compensation and benefits offerings are compliant with local labor laws and regulations.
Compliance and Policy Management:
- Ensure all HR practices comply with Saudi labor laws and hotel policies.
- Maintain and update employee handbooks, policies, and procedures to reflect current standards.
Learning and Development:
- Oversee training and development programs to enhance employee skills and ensure continuous learning.
- Promote a culture of learning and development through tailored training sessions.
HR Analytics and Reporting:
- Utilize HR analytics to monitor key metrics related to recruitment, retention, and employee performance.
- Prepare and present HR reports and analysis to the executive team.
Budget Management:
- Manage the HR department’s budget, including forecasting and controlling expenses.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within the hospitality industry.
- Proven experience in a 5-star luxury hotel environment, preferably within the GCC region.
- Strong knowledge of Saudi labor laws and employment regulations.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in HR software and systems, as well as Microsoft Office Suite.
- Fluent in English; proficiency in Arabic is a plus.
